# Editorial backlinks

> An editorial backlink is a dofollow link inside a page someone can read. It is not a directory listing, and it is not a $500 to $1,000 agency placement.

- Site: Lede Press (https://ledepress.com)

An editorial backlink on Lede Press is one dofollow link inside an article about a product. The page has a title, a summary, and a body. The link sits in a sentence. The homepage lists the page the day it publishes.

A directory listing is a logo and a link in a catalog. This site does not publish that. The link is in text a person can read, which is also text a search crawler and an answer engine can read.

Both plans include the page and the dofollow link. The $29 plan adds an SEO and GEO edit and a Pinterest pin about the article, and it does not require a badge. The free plan requires the badge and does not include that edit or the pin.

SEO is the title, summary, headings, and the link in context. GEO, generative engine optimization, is a direct opening that states what the product is, who it is for, and where the link goes, so an answer engine can quote it.

The domain rating of this site is 0. A published link does not promise a ranking, a citation, a traffic number, or a movement in that rating.
